How do I join?

Here are a few ways that you can go about joining. You may call our clients hotline number which is 888-282-2623. After you have heard the initial greeting for our existing clients the rest of the recording is for you, the new bee! What we ask of you are the following things. Please leave us your name, first and last. PLEASE spell it S-L-O-W-L-Y. Sometimes we have people call and speak so fast that we have no idea who to ask for when we call. It also makes it difficult for us to verify your working relationship with Casting Agencies if we are unsure of who exactly were checking up on. If you are registered with Central Casting we also ask you to leave us the first 5 digits of your social security number. Central Casting is the largest Casting Agency in the United States; therefore, we feel it's a good chance that most of you are registered with them. The reason we ask you for this information is that we must call to make sure that you're as wonderful as you say you are. Also we need to see a photo of you. All it takes is one phone call from us to verify your information with them.

What if you aren't registered with Central Casting? It's no problem you may email us at KaliforniaKasting@gmail.com. What we need in the email is a recent photo of you and your telephone number. Believe me it does not need to be a professional headshot, anything that would show us your CUTE MUG is all that's necessary. If you don't have a way of emailing a photo to us you may use snail mail through the USPS. Hey wait a minute if you don't have a computer then how are you seeing our website? I thought the neighbors only asked you to water the plants? Okay as most of you can tell by reading this site I, Jen have a bit of a strange personality, but it keeps me sane in this crazy business and you will definitely learn to appreciate it. Okay, so you have either called us, emailed us, or even snail mailed us…now what? We will give you a call back the following business day and invite you to join our roster, if you fit our specific criteria. (This is oh so very top secret that we don't even know what it is.) No, really. We are a small service and are very particular with who we invite to join. Not because we think we're better than the other services out there, because believe me we know we are. What makes us tower over everyone else is a little known thing in this business called a conscience. Yes, we would love to accept everyone that calls us but it just can't be done. (((Yes, we could accept everyone that calls and drive around in a Ferrari knowing that our clients aren't being booked and our name is being slammed but hey so what, we have a Ferrari, lots of money and who needs sleep?))) We work very hard for our clients and better yet, we know who they are as well! Keep this in mind when you are looking into services and ask around. Okay, I am off my soapbox lets wrap this up. Unfortunately, some people play to the tune of a different drummer which is fine for them, but I know that I can't get work regularly enough for the guy who has "mom" tattooed on his forehead. (Now I am exaggerating about the tattoo but hopefully you get what I am saying.) I absolutely know that I could book him occasionally but not enough to justify him paying us monthly. A calling service has to work for you, know who you are and most importantly be worth your money. If we are unable to invite you to join our service we will always give suggestions as to how you can solve the problem to help you be able to secure yourselves work or even eventually be able to resubmit to us to join. Sometimes it is as simple as shaving, haircuts makeup or clothes. Things that you maybe didn't think about in the beginning when you registered with agencies, no one tells you this because they figure it is self explanatory. After 16 years in this business we leave nothing to chance. We will say this, if you went to join a Casting Agency wearing a t shirt and looking a little haggard, you probably short changed yourself. Would you show up to a family photo looking like that? No way, number one your mom (if she were anything like mine) would let you have it, number two you just wouldn't do something like that.
